salt and honey jgirls+ retreat

jGirls+ Magazine Retreat: Feminism, Judaism, and New York—oh my!

This weekend was the fourth jGirls+ Magazine retreat. The teen editorial staff traveled to New York to gather in person for the first time and began building our community for this year. Let me tell you, these teens are changing the world. I was blown away by how openly they share their passion for feminism, Jewish pluralism, and, of course, jGirls+.

This weekend, we shared our values, identities, writing, poetry, laughter, and hopes for our work to come. I am SO inspired by what was shared. I’m so glad I got not only to meet the teens I’ll be working closely with this year but also the dedicated, scrappy, and all-around lovely staff that makes jGirls+ run. What a team!

I am honored to be this organization’s Communications and Community Weaving Manager. I can’t wait to dive in!

P.S.—

For the first time ever, jGirls+ published an anthology of work from the past three years. Full of essays, creative writing, art, photography, and poetry, Salt & Honey spoke to me. I’ve already read it twice and cannot recommend it enough. As a young Jewish feminist, this is a collection I will be returning to over and over.
