Activist Offering Roundup

Being a columnist is a dream come true. In the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to write about things I could only dream about because pitching every idea that crosses my mind would take eons. Now, as a regular contributor to The Progressive, I have the freedom to cover the topics I choose on a regular basis.

The last few weeks have been hectic! Below is a roundup of my latest Activist Offering columns.

Starting in mid-July, I wrote a critical column on why using gender-inclusive language when talking about abortion is non-negotiable. Queer and trans people need abortions too and are all-too-often left behind in this movement.

Next, I covered the fight to make birth control pills available over the counter. HRA Pharma submitted its application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to officially be available OTC, becoming the first ever to do so. TBD if it gets approved!

Lastly, I covered the massive success of the Kansas constitutional amendment. Kansans were the first in the nation to vote on abortion post-Dobbs and they overwhelmingly voted to keep abortion legal in the state.
